Our customer in North York is seeking a skilled EDM Operator. The ideal candidate will have shop experience in machining and programming CNC machines using EDM machines.

Responsibilities :

• Plan the job; how to set up, design and create fixtures (select appropriate cutting tools and materials
• Maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping.
• Study job orders and interpret engineering drawings (both electronic and paper prints).
• Verify the dimensions of the machined part using precision instruments.
• Diagnose and correct faults for errors and omissions in the program.
• Prioritize operations / jobs
• Keep informed of the status of each project to ensure schedules are maintained.
• Communicate programs / procedures / drawings to machinists / Tool & Die makers
• Ensure all work, including material and labour, is accurately reported and job tickets are completed daily with the correct part or job number and accurate times.

Qualifications :

• Familiar with EDM machines
• Proficiency in CNC programming and operation
• Mechanical knowledge of machining processes
• must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Experience with quality inspection techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
• Familiarity with a variety of hand tools used in machining

Job Type : Full-time

Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 : 30 pm and overtime on Weekends.
