How You’ll Make an Impact

You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of overhead doors and dock levelers with the following responsibilities :

  • Conducting maintenance checks and diagnosing repairs for dock products to replace worn or defective parts at customer sites.
  • Troubleshooting operational malfunctions on equipment and communicating and executing next steps for repair solutions to the customer.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals.
  • Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures.
  • As a technician, you are the front line contact between GNJ and the customer, so you are comfortable with client contact as well as being technical savvy.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and / or minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience.
  • Automotive Certification (310S) or Heavy Duty Technician Certification (421A) an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, knowledge of the use of electrical / electronic diagnostic tools / measurements.
  • Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
  • Experience aligning above equipment, using dial indicators / calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks is a plus.
  • Able to interpret and implement technical procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of general Lock-out / Tag-out procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
