Responsible for managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising,
labor, and other operational processes to company standards.
- Ensure all new department employees receive proper training and supervision.
- Effectively manage employees by efficiently scheduling personnel to meet the needs of the department
based on business volume and workloads.
Ensures that the department is ready for business at all times and is in compliance with all Health &
Product Standards.
- Serve customers, weigh, wrap and affix price labels to products.
- Advise customers regarding the content and types of products available.
- Replenish supplies and rotate products in the display counter.
- Performs other tasks as required by management to meet business needs.

Job Requirements
3-5 years grocery / supermarket experience in a deli environment, preferably in a supervisory or
assistant supervisory role.
Post-secondary education and / or experience in merchandising and / or business management is considered an
asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a talent for building customer loyalty.
- Strong motivational, leadership skills & organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to operate in changing temperatures on a regular basis.
- Need be able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to bend, squat, and lift occasionally.
- Ability to use sharp tools (e.g. knives) and meat slicing machines.
