Position Description :

Under the supervision and direction of the Operations Manager and in accordance with the Indigenous Women’s Healing Centre’s goals and service policies and standards, the incumbent functions as a member of the North Star Lodge team in providing services designed to enable Indigenous women to achieve positive change and growth.

As the Cultural Support you will provide culturally sensitive supports, guidance, and teachings to the residents by providing access to Ceremonies and acting as a role model.

Qualification Required :

• Previous experience and community recognition as cultural resource.
• Must have previous experience in providing cultural supports to the community such as conducting or assisting in Sweats, Teaching Circles, and a verity of Healing Ceremonies.
• Knowledge of culturally relevant approaches and practices are essential.
• Excellent organizations and time management skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a service team is essential.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety.
• Ability to speak an Indigenous language a definite asset.
• Driver’s license is required.
