Job purpose

The Coordinator, Cash Application is responsible for accurately and promptly applying payments to customers’ accounts and ensuring that all payment adjustments are processed to keep accounts current.

Internal customers consist of Customer Services Reps, Sales and Marketing Personnel, Logistic Department Personnel in the US, External Brokers, and Accounts Receivable Department.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

• Responsible for promptly and accurately applying payments.
• Responsible for promptly and accurately performing adjustments and spreads as directed.
• Perform daily reporting on invoicing.
• Monitor emails and respond to customer questions and requests in a timely manner.
• Work with other members of the team and departments to resolve issues & answer questions.
• Collaborate with the Analyst, Credit and Deductions to maintain goals and general A / R performance levels.
• Work with customers to streamline the exchange of information relating to deduction support. and reporting by leveraging technologies such as EDI and web portals.
• Ensure deductions taken by customers are set up and any available back up is actioned in a timely manner.
• Perform additional miscellaneous tasks associated with the position.
• Investigate and assist in resolving billing discrepancies or misapplied cash transactions.
• Communicate with internal / external sales representatives and accounting / tax professionals as necessary to complete job duties.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is an asset.
• Experience with Cash Application is an asset.
• Experience with J.D Edwards Enterprise One an asset.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Must have ability to problem solve with limited supervision.
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
