Airswift is working with one of our major Oil and Gas clients to find a Contract Field Operator to join their team in Cold Lake, AB.
The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations at the Cold Lake facility.
This includes managing fluid delivery, pipeline terminal operations, and pump stations. The role involves interfacing with Lloydminster Control Room personnel, field operations staff, Midstream engineering staff, construction and service companies, trucking companies, and maintenance personnel.
This position is for local candidates only, as there is no camp allowance provided . The schedule consists of 8 days on, followed by 6 days off, with each workday being 10 hours long.
The duration of the role is one year . A truck is required for site visits to various well sites and other integrated field assets, and there will be a monthly truck allowance provided.
Responsibilities :
- Operate and maintain pipeline facilities at LACT sites, terminals, and various field locations.
- Understand regulatory and operational approvals related to the facilities, including acceptable materials.
- Manage data inputs, track truck tickets, and maintain regular communication with customers and transportation dispatch.
- Monitor truck scales to ensure accurate operations.
- File facility waste approvals, truck tickets, and other site-specific data.
- Communicate with field operators to develop and maintain customer relations at the facility level.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Perform control of work and energy isolation procedures.
- Initiate work notifications for the maintenance group to sustain safe operations.
- Sample products and test for density, temperature, and BS&W.
- Perform station truck unloading duties and ensure the terminal operates within safety and operational standards.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and identify alternative solutions for operational issues safely and sustainably.
- Provide technical support for planning and scheduling work.
- Offer onsite direction, training, and mentorship to the team.
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing tasks and ensure procedures are up to date.
- Assist in developing additional site-specific procedures and THAs as needed to ensure safe work performance.
Qualifications :
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail with demonstrated troubleshooting abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
- Self-motivated, able to excel with limited supervision, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, and be on-call during shifts.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface positively with the local community and multiple support teams.
- Accountable and results-oriented.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
