No Days Off Transport Ltd. is looking for an experienced Class 1 Long haul truck driver that is safety-driven, energetic and customer service-oriented, for pick-up and delivery of goods throughout BC and Alberta, with occasional trips to other Provinces.

STARTING WAGE $32 / HR

Responsibilities & Requirements :

  • Excellent verbal and written English.
  • Valid Class 1 with air brake endorsement are required.
  • Flat deck and / or Step deck experience required Tilt-Deck experience is also an asset
  • Experience strapping, chaining, securing loads and tarping.
  • 5 years minimum of Class 1 tractor-trailer experience
  • 3 years minimum of mountain driving experience and winter conditions, including chaining up tires.
  • Knowledge of hours of service and axle weights
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and forklift handling
  • Live Pics and Drops - Oversee loading / unloading of materials to direct proper placement on trailer and to avoid damage of goods and materials.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 60Lbs.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Willing to travel for extended periods, overnight.
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Ability to take on a large workload with physically demanding tasks.
  • Ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the cargo
  • Ability to clearly communicate with dispatcher, customers and other drivers using cellular phone.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Clean driving record.
  • No Criminal Record.

Job Duties :

  • Operate / Drive Company Semi Truck with Flatbed / Stepdeck Trailer in a safe and professional manner
  • Pre-Trip and Post- Trip Inspections (ELD)
  • Plan trip logistics (assisted by dispatch) and prepare documentation / Bill of Lading for transportation of goods
  • Record trip details / hours / fuelling / breaks on Electronic Log Device (ELD)
  • Communicate effectively with the dispatcher and others, using electronic devices to receive and send information.
  • Submit completed paperwork / bill of lading / photo's effectively
  • Ensure all cargo is properly secured according to safety regulations.
  • Tarping loads (occasionally tarping), chaining loads, and properly positioning loads, as per the load's requirements.
  • Chaining up tires in winter conditions
  • Hooking / unhooking trailers
  • Having a positive attitude and good personal hygiene / professional appearance
  • Maintain professional-looking equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.

All prospective candidates will be required to pass a test drive including various aspects of loading, securing and offloading.
