Position : Child Youth Worker

Location : Downtown Toronto

Our client is seeking a Child Youth Worker to join their specialized Day Treatment program in a school setting in downtown Toronto.

This role is essential in creating a safe, supportive environment where students can develop the academic and social-emotional skills they need for successful reintegration into community schools.

Use your education and experience in children's mental health to make a meaningful impact on students' lives as part of a dedicated team committed to fostering positive growth.

Key Responsibilities :

• Build supportive relationships with students, staff, and community partners.
• Plan and implement therapeutic activities to foster learning and resilience.
• Develop and monitor individualized and group treatment plans.
• Communicate effectively with parents, residential staff, and school administration.
• Collaborate with educational professionals for coordinated, holistic care.
• Facilitate meetings, provide counseling, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications :

• Diploma in Child & Youth Work, Developmental Support, Social Service Work, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in children’s mental health.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with knowledge of mental health and behavior management.
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of learning disabilities.
• Valid certification in Safe Management Group and CPR / First Aid.

Employment Details :

• Full-Time Hours : Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
• Contract Duration : 10 months
• Pay Rate : $22.51 per hour
• Location : Toronto, ON
