Bilingual Customer Service Representative

Our client, a leader in the Canadian insurance industry, is seeking 20 Bilingual Customer Service Representatives to support their Retirement Services team.

This is a temporary position with the possibility of extension or conversion to full-time. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Candidates may work from the Montréal office or the Halifax office.

What is in it for you :

  • Hourly salary $24.78.
  • 6-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
  • Full-time position : 37.50 hours per week.
  • Hybrid work : 3 office days, from Tuesday to Thursday.
  • Rotational schedule (AST) : Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 9 pm.

Responsibilities :

  • Handle inbound calls from retirement plan members, offering support on account details and web / app navigation.
  • Respond to complex customer queries, providing accurate and complete information.
  • Process transactions and assist members with relevant forms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet service targets, including Average Handling Time (AHT), schedule adherence, and quality assurance metrics.
  • Ensure excellent customer service in all interactions and take a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What you will need to succeed :

  • Post-secondary education is preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of customer service or administrative experience.
  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) to support clients in both languages.
  • Experience working in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Familiarity with working in a KPI-driven environment.
  • Strong time-management and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of personalities.
  • Positive team player with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge of Canadian retirement products (preferred but not required).
  • Understanding of financial services concepts (preferred).
