Job Description

The Batch maker is responsible for the bulk production of finished goods. He is also responsible for verifying and maintaining the inventory of raw materials required to manufacture the different products and keeping the raw material designated warehouse space organized.

Main tasks :

  • Work safely at all times by complying with all safety regulations while working with hazardous materials and chemicals, including wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Ensure adequate processing of all Instukem bulk products according to the production schedules and / or to work orders.

Bulk products include but are not limited to liquid and derivative liquid products, powder, and special mixes such as peracetic acid.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area including the proper maintenance of tools and equipment such as (pails, pumps, hoses, sink, etc).
  • Maintain clean tanks inside and out.
  • Precisely weigh / measure raw materials
  • Put away raw materials at the latest, within the same day of reception.
  • Review next week's production plan and ensure that all raw materials are available to fulfill the schedule.
  • Follow the chemical recipes diligently and combine in the order specified.
  • Add raw materials to tanks in such a way to minimize waste.
  • Enter production information into the computer system (assembly orders) and report any discrepancies in the computer system between the BOM and recipe sheets.
  • Enter lot numbers for each batch.
  • Give quality sample and recipe sheet to the operations manager.
  • Perform basic quality control on products that are required, including PH level verification as well as color compliance.
  • Keep track of raw inventory and work with logistics coordinator for any discrepancies in the computer system
  • Give input and suggestions on organisational efficiencies, work tools and procedures.
  • Participate in the quality control program to ensure high-quality production output.
  • Use a lift truck and maintain log.
  • Perform any other warehouse related tasks as required and requested.

Prerequisites :

  • WHMIS training (asset)
  • Forklift Certificates (Must)
  • Must be able to differentiate between color variances
  • Knowledge of computer tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Working conditions :

  • Frequent lifting up to 50-70 lbs. unassisted
  • Responsibilities are repetitive in nature
  • Various chemicals used in process
  • Work in a warehouse environment
  • Schedule

From Monday to Thursday 6h30 to 3h30
