THE OPPORTUNITY :

Our client seeks to engage an experienced Bakery Manager for an upscale supermarket in Toronto. Supermarket experience is preferable.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Manage the entire Bakery Department including the bakery kitchen, baking operations and production of product, retail display and merchandising, staff coverage, staff issues, scheduling, ordering bakery components, inventory control, shrinkage control, food safety and quality assurance, etc.

Ensure the delivery of superior customer service at all times.

REQUIREMENTS :

5 years+ of senior experience managing a bakery department, retail and kitchen, preferably in an upscale supermarket environment - chain or independent versus the value chains.

Knowledgeable in all aspects of food production operations, including : production planning, inventory management, food safety, quality assurance, process improvement, and equipment maintenance.

Post-secondary degree in Culinary Management or Bakery & Pastry Arts is an asset, or extensive experience in the industry.

Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze financial data and reports in conjunction with business operations to make effective decisions and take corrective action, as required.

Flexible and able to work 50 hours per week. Available one weekend day and 4 weekdays. Some evening shifts. Able to accommodate holidays and seasonal events.

COMPENSATION :

Salary range if 50K to 60K per annum and is commensurate with experience.

Plus benefits.

Discretionary annual bonus.
