Moncton Chrysler Jeep Dodge is now hiring an Automotive Service Technician - Red Seal
Position Overview :
In the Automotive Service Technician role, you will play a crucial role in terms of the customer experience in conducting diagnostic procedures to determine vehicle maintenance requirements and providing accurate repair recommendations to our customers.
Days / hours of work : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 to 4 : 30
Job Responsibilities :
- Performing vehicle repairs and / or maintenance work as outlined on RO with efficiency and accuracy, performing all duties in accordance with dealership and OEM standards
- Communicating with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production / repairs, cycle times and customer communication
- Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations for repairs while ensuring the safety and reliability of any vehicle that has been repaired prior to them being returned to the customer
- Document all work performed on the vehicle RO by creating a story in the on the associated repair order, in a manner consistent with OEM standards, ensuring payment of warranty work is provided by the manufacturer
- Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as a store-provided piece of equipment
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as required
- Providing an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue
Requirements :
- A provincially recognized Red Seal Journeyman's certificate, completed or in process is mandatory
- Completion of a related post-secondary program and or training courses
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history
Work Conditions :
- Indoor / outdoor shop environment subject to changing temperatures in hot and cold climates where physically vigorous work is, or may be, required
- Subject to regular exposure to fumes, dust / dirt, oil, grease, and noise from equipment operation
- Work around and operate machinery and other motorized equipment, including operation of motor vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions
- Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 75 pounds
- Manipulate hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment
- Reach overhead, the shoulder and horizontally to reach and place materials and equipment in certain areas
- Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, turning and twisting to reach various vehicle parts in need of repair
- Occasional carrying, pushing, or pulling boxes and other vehicle repair equipment to facilitate repairs
- Clarity of vision at varying distances in various color shades to observe diagnostic instruments, manuals, and other printed information
- Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner
