What You’ll Do
The ANSOL Operator position is a position within the production team which will introduce new employees to the Production Operator role.
This is achieved through the on-going participation and contribution to the site production, safety and maintenance program. Duties will include :
- Ensure the safety of the operations and customers by following company policies, safety procedures, participating in safety meetings and programs (Take 5!) and conducting regular equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Load, deliver and unload raw materials as required (Ammonium Nitrate Solution).
- Shunting of empty and full tankers for receiving and shipping purposes.
- Load, deliver and unload bulk and package products as required - processing railcars with steam application for off loading.
- Operate equipment such as a forklift and shunt truck.
- Work with production team to ensure quality is maintained by consistently blending within specification.
- Maintain specification for product quality control and testing with a basic understanding of raw materials and their uses related to emulsion formulations.
- Assist in the maintenance, servicing and housekeeping of company facilities, vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.
- Decision Making Authority : Make decisions at a moderate degree of complexity.
- Major Challenges : Managing Customer expectations performance and deliveries while complying with all DNCI (Dyno Nobel Canada Inc.
and federal regulations
What We’re Looking For :
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in warehouse operations, shipping / receiving and small equipment operation
- Must be able to work both inside and outside the plant
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, attendance and organizational skills
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
